Such a shame...

Today I got an email from Stripe explaining that they won't be able to support my business. I've been using them for the past 18 months, never used VPN because I thought I'd never need it. I phone called them last year and they simply approved me.

Now they say I don't qualify because I do not have a physical presence in the U.S or an employee. Their polices and terms changed. It didn't help explaining to them that I do not require physical presence because my business is in the IT Services branch and fully online ...

Here is what triggered it: A few days ago I opened a secondary sub-account and they flagged me. I think it might have been the recent change of business address which was on the CMRA list. Possibly the IP as well, but I always logged from North Macedonia in the past 18 months. I just switched back to a non CMRA business address, just to be safe.

So apparently, Stripe Atlas is OK for a non-US citizen and this isn't? Shame ...

Anyway, I called Braintree today and submitted my application. Also applied with BlueSnap as well and I got a U.S business PayPal on standby.
I'd rather be fully transparent and approved by a service that completely knows my identity and business rather than applying for a new Stripe account and hiding behind VPN.

Sorry to hear that man. Why don't you try Stripe Atlas?
It's fine, i'll manage.

I already have an LLC since 2018, EIN and a few checking bank accounts. It would be a setback if I apply for Stripe Atlas ... I don't know, I'll see how things are going.

Hmm ... It turns out Stripe only disabled my new account from 2019, while the one from 2018 is all good as they say ...

This whole situation puzzled me, anyway I still have a working Stripe account for now.
So far so good ...

That's a good news, so they only disabled the new one. But it's better to get some backup plans just in case.
